Podiatry Vacancy 

 

StEPS Podiatry is a private foot care company based in Troon, Ayrshire. The business was started as a domiciliary service in 2011 and the StEPS home care service remains an integral part of the business today.  With a focus on dementia and adults with learning difficulties, StEPS Podiatry aims to deliver a foot care service that is wrapped around the needs of people who are vulnerable and with frailty.  From the assessment of peripheral arterial disease, diabetic foot care and nail care, to falls prevention and footwear advice, the domiciliary team offers a general foot care service that supports people to maintain good foot health and prevent foot ulcers. StEPS home care service visits people in their own homes across Troon, Prestwick and Ayr and also services people  in care homes. 

 

StEPS Podiatry is currently seeking an HCPC registered Podiatrist to join our home care services team. 

 

We also invite applications from Foot Health Practitioners, as there is a mentoring scheme in place and any FHP will be supported by a senior Podiatrist. 

 

The job is a full time permanent  position (37.5 hours per week). A job share will be considered, and as such we also encourage applications from people who are seeking part time hours only. The hours worked will be between 9am to 5pm from Monday to Friday.  

 

The successful candidate will have a driver’s licence and a car. Travel will be reimbursed in line with the UK Government, currently 45p per mile. The candidate should also be computer literate and will be trained in the use of Practicepal, the patient management system. The successful candidate will use the clinic in Troon as their base, but much of their working week will be travelling to their patients and so it follows that the candidate must be able to work autonomously and to manage their own caseload. Excellent communication skills are essential. 

 

Salary

The starting salary ranges from £25,000 – £27,500 per year (pro rata) for HCPC Podiatrists, depending on experience. 

The starting salary ranges from £22,500 – £25,000 per year (pro rata) for Foot Health Practitioners, depending on experience. 

 

Please note that StEPS Podiatry will make a contribution to the HCPC and RCPod annual subscriptions for any HCPC Podiatrist (full time employees will receive 100% of annual subscriptions).  

 

Annual leave is 28 days per year (pro rata) including public holidays. 

 

Continued professional development is encouraged and supported, and study leave will be granted on an individual basis.
